Companies & SMEs

Industrial Solar Systems

How much can a company save by installing a solar system? +

Savings depend above all on how much of the energy produced is consumed directly on site: the closer production and consumption overlap, the greater the benefit. For a business with mostly daytime loads, a correctly sized system covers a significant share of electricity needs, cutting grid purchases — and the bill — for many years.

How is the right system size determined? +

Not by the roof space available, but by real data: annual consumption, hourly profile, shifts, seasonality and time-of-use. The goal is the best balance between production and consumption, maximizing self-consumption and return on investment. That is why we always start from a free consumption analysis.

How quickly does a company recover the investment? +

Payback depends on system cost, expected production, self-consumption share, the price of avoided energy and any incentives available. That is why we prepare a business plan with annual savings, cash flows, break-even and long-term return, comparing different investment and financing scenarios where useful.

Which incentives can my company access? +

Depending on your case and on the schemes in force at the time of investment: hyper-depreciation, Transition 5.0 and other business-focused incentives. New Energy checks which measures apply to you and handles all administrative and financial paperwork.

What happens to the energy the company cannot self-consume? +

It is fed into the grid and remunerated under the applicable mechanisms. However, a self-consumed kWh is normally worth more than an exported one: good design therefore aims to maximize self-consumption, considering storage systems or load management where appropriate.

Does installation disrupt production? +

No: works are planned with your company to avoid interfering with production and are carried out by New Energy’s qualified in-house staff, with a single point of contact from survey to grid connection.

Investors & solar farms

Utility-Scale & Solar Farms

Why invest in a ground-mounted solar plant? +

A ground-mounted plant turns suitable land into a productive asset generating long-term revenue: the energy can be sold to the grid or remunerated through available incentive schemes. With a useful life that can exceed 25-30 years, it offers relatively predictable cash flows, low operating costs and partial protection against inflation and energy prices.

Which land is suitable for a solar plant? +

Not all land is equal. Feasibility depends on zoning, landscape and environmental constraints, suitable-area regulations, orientation, slope, access and the possibility of grid connection. Before assessing returns we always carry out a preliminary technical, permitting and grid-connection feasibility study.

How much can a ground-mounted plant yield? +

Returns depend on installed capacity, irradiation, construction cost, annual production, the energy price and any incentives. A proper business plan also accounts for module degradation, maintenance, insurance, management, financing costs and energy-price variations, to estimate payback, annual yield and 10-, 20- and 30-year returns.

Can I invest without owning land? +

Yes. Land can be bought or secured through long-term contracts such as surface rights, provided they are compatible with the project and its bankability. Site selection is part of the investment: beyond price, what matters is production potential, permitting and, above all, the availability and cost of grid connection.

What is the difference between ground-mounted and agrivoltaic? +

A ground-mounted plant occupies the soil with modules; agrivoltaics integrates PV production with farming, keeping crops or grazing under and between the structures. Agrivoltaics is often the way to add value to farmland while staying within suitable-area rules: we assess together which configuration is permittable and more profitable in your case.

How long does the process take and who manages it? +

Timelines depend on size, location and the applicable permitting procedure, and can take several months. New Energy manages the whole development — feasibility study, permits, grid connection, construction and operation — with a single partner accountable for the result.

Energy Efficiency (ESCo)

What is an ESCo? +

ESCo stands for Energy Service Company: a company that finances and delivers energy-efficiency measures taking on the investment risk itself, earning by sharing the savings generated on the bill. New Energy is an ESCo accredited under the Italian Interministerial Decree of 28 December 2012 and certified UNI CEI 11352.

How does an Energy Performance Contract (EPC) work? +

It starts with an energy audit and measurable savings targets. New Energy designs, finances and delivers the measures; the investment is repaid through the savings generated, reducing or eliminating the upfront outlay. If the agreed savings do not materialize, the risk sits with New Energy, not with the client.

Do I have to fund the investment upfront? +

With performance contracting the initial outlay can be reduced or eliminated: it is the formula designed for businesses and public bodies that want to improve efficiency without tying up capital. The financial structure is defined case by case on the basis of the audit.

Which measures are part of an efficiency project? +

LED relamping, heat pumps replacing old boiler plants, solar thermal, insulation, PV with storage and smart consumption monitoring. The mistake to avoid is acting piecemeal: savings become structural when you start from the audit and each measure reinforces the others.

How long does an ESCo contract last? +

It depends on the scale of the measures and the expected savings: the term is sized so that the investment is repaid through the savings generated. At the end of the contract the systems and the benefits remain with the client.

How are the savings measured? +

Through a measurement and verification plan set out in the contract: baseline consumption before the works, continuous monitoring afterwards and periodic comparison. Transparent data and verifiable targets are the foundation of the ESCo model.

Municipalities & public bodies

Public Sector Solutions

How does an ESCo contract work for a municipality? +

The public body does not have to fund the works: New Energy designs, delivers and manages them and is paid from a share of the savings achieved. It is a model compatible with public budget constraints, allowing assets to be modernized without burdening municipal finances.

What qualifications do you hold for public tenders? +

SOA qualification in categories OG9 (power-generation plants, class III-bis) and OG1 (civil and industrial buildings, class II), UNI CEI 11352 ESCo certification and ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and 50001 certified management systems.

Which funds and incentives can the public body use? +

The Conto Termico scheme for energy retrofits of public buildings, NRRP resources and the EU or regional funds active at the time of the works. New Energy identifies the applicable measures, checks their compatibility and handles the paperwork.

How long does a public-lighting LED relamping take? +

After the survey of lighting points and the design phase, the replacement is planned by zone and completed quickly, without interrupting the service. Consumption savings are immediate from the first month.

Do you also work on public residential housing? +

Yes: social housing, autonomous housing institutes, ATER and public housing stock in general, with measures on the envelope, heating systems, PV and storage. Lower running costs free up resources for citizen services.

Where do we start? +

From an energy audit of the public body’s buildings and systems: it is the basis for a coherent plan of measures, where each one reinforces the others, and for a clear, verifiable financial proposal.

Residential Solar

How much can I save with a solar system? +

It depends on sizing and consumption habits: a well-designed system can cut energy costs by up to 70%, and the share grows when paired with battery storage. That’s why we always start from a free bill analysis.

Is battery storage mandatory? +

No. The system works without it, but a battery stores daytime production for evening use: it increases self-sufficiency and reduces grid draw at night.

Do panels produce with overcast skies? +

Yes: clouds reduce output but don’t stop it. With storage, the energy saved earlier covers periods of lower irradiation.

What materials do you use? +

We use first-category solar panels, inverters and storage batteries manufactured in the European Union.

How long does installation take? +

For a residential system, roof works are typically completed in a few days; New Energy then handles the grid-connection procedure with the distributor and any tax incentives, through to commissioning.

Can solar be installed in an apartment building? +

Yes, either as a shared system for the common areas or as an individual apartment’s system on the common roof, in compliance with building rules and permits. We carry out a free survey to identify the most suitable solution.

Heating & Cooling Systems

Full-electric or hybrid heat pump: which should I choose? +

A full-electric unit fully replaces the boiler and is the ideal choice alongside solar PV; a hybrid pairs a heat pump with a condensing boiler and suits poorly insulated buildings or high-temperature radiators. The choice depends on the envelope, emitters and consumption: we define it during the free survey.

Do heat pumps work in very low temperatures? +

Yes: modern heat pumps keep good performance even below freezing. Correct sizing, and a hybrid configuration in the harshest climates, guarantee comfort in every season.

Is it worth pairing a heat pump with solar PV? +

It is the most efficient combination: rooftop energy powers heating, cooling and hot water, with a storage system extending self-consumption into the evening. It is also the configuration receiving the highest support under the 2026 Abruzzo Region scheme for those replacing a biomass or oil boiler.

What incentives exist for replacing an old boiler? +

Italy’s Conto Termico 3.0 scheme (GSE) supports replacing winter heating systems with heat pumps, hybrid systems and certified biomass generators. In Abruzzo, from 15 September 2026, an additional regional grant covers up to 100% of eligible costs for those replacing a biomass or oil boiler. New Energy checks eligibility free of charge and handles the paperwork.

Is a heat pump noisy? +

Latest-generation outdoor units are designed to run quietly; the choice of position and model, made during the survey, avoids any nuisance for your home and your neighbours.

One system for both heating and cooling? +

Yes: a heat pump heats in winter, cools in summer and can produce domestic hot water all year round, with a single control system and a single maintenance contract.

Citizens, businesses & public bodies

Renewable Energy Communities

What is a Renewable Energy Community? +

It is a legal entity in which citizens, businesses and local authorities connected to the same primary substation produce and share renewable energy. The shared energy receives an incentive from the GSE, distributed among members according to the community’s rules.

Who can join? +

Households, apartment buildings, small and medium-sized businesses, municipalities, religious bodies and non-profits, either as producers (with a plant) or simply as consumers. Large companies may take part within the limits set by regulation.

Do I need my own plant to join a REC? +

No: you can join as a consumer only and benefit from a share of the incentive on shared energy. Those who own or build a plant contribute to production and receive a larger share.

How are incentives shared? +

According to the community’s statute and rules, which set the shares for producers, consumers and social purposes in the area. New Energy helps define transparent and fair rules.

What does New Energy do for a REC? +

We support the whole journey: feasibility study and primary-substation check, design and construction of the plants, setting up the legal entity, GSE procedures and ongoing operational management of the community.

How long does the incentive last? +

The incentive on shared energy is granted by the GSE for a multi-year period set by current regulation, starting from the commissioning of the configuration. We check the conditions applicable to your case in the feasibility study.

Free Energy Consulting

Why do I need a consultation to choose a system? +

Every building is unique: consumption, exposure, available space. The consultation assesses your real needs and points you to the most efficient, economically sound solution — not the biggest one.

How do I know which technology suits me? +

Our technicians analyze consumption profile, space and budget to propose the right mix: solar PV, storage, solar thermal or heat pump, standalone or combined.

Is the consultation really free with no obligation? +

Yes: the consumption analysis and site survey are free and carry no purchase obligation.

What should I prepare for the analysis? +

Just your latest bills (electricity and, if relevant, gas) and some information about the building and consumption habits. For businesses, hourly load data available from the distributor is also useful.

How long does it take and what do I get? +

After the analysis and the survey you receive a proposal with concrete numbers: recommended capacity, energy produced, any storage, estimated savings, applicable incentives and payback. From there, the decision is yours, with no pressure.

O&M and Monitoring

How does solar system maintenance work? +

Systems need little maintenance, but periodic checks preserve efficiency and lifespan. New Energy offers maintenance packages with performance monitoring and scheduled or on-fault interventions.

What does remote monitoring mean? +

The system reports production, consumption and any faults in real time: our technicians detect performance drops before they affect the bill and intervene precisely, reducing downtime and costs.

How often should modules be cleaned? +

It depends on the environment: dust, pollen or proximity to roads and farming can reduce output. Monitoring flags when cleaning is actually worthwhile, avoiding unnecessary interventions.

How long does a solar PV or thermal system last? +

Average lifespan is 25-30 years: with proper maintenance, systems keep producing efficiently for decades.

Do you also manage systems not installed by New Energy? +

Yes: after an initial technical check we can take over maintenance and monitoring of existing residential and industrial systems.

How are panels disposed of at end of life? +

Collection of exhausted panels is included in the purchase price: New Energy is a member of the PV CYCLE consortium for responsible module recycling.
