Renewable Energy Communities

It is a legal entity in which citizens, businesses and local authorities connected to the same primary substation produce and share renewable energy. The shared energy receives an incentive from the GSE, distributed among members according to the community’s rules.

Households, apartment buildings, small and medium-sized businesses, municipalities, religious bodies and non-profits, either as producers (with a plant) or simply as consumers. Large companies may take part within the limits set by regulation.

No: you can join as a consumer only and benefit from a share of the incentive on shared energy. Those who own or build a plant contribute to production and receive a larger share.

According to the community’s statute and rules, which set the shares for producers, consumers and social purposes in the area. New Energy helps define transparent and fair rules.

We support the whole journey: feasibility study and primary-substation check, design and construction of the plants, setting up the legal entity, GSE procedures and ongoing operational management of the community.

The incentive on shared energy is granted by the GSE for a multi-year period set by current regulation, starting from the commissioning of the configuration. We check the conditions applicable to your case in the feasibility study.
