Sentinel of Creation Award 2025 to Daniele Braccia
At the 20th Catholic Information Forum for the Care of Creation in Pescasseroli, New Energy CEO Daniele Braccia receives the Sentinel of Creation Award 2025 for turning the ecological transition into a concrete opportunity for businesses, public bodies and citizens.

Some awards don’t measure the kilowatts installed but the meaning of the work behind them. On 19 November 2025 Federesco announced the Sentinel of Creation Award 2025 (“Sentinella del Creato”) conferred on Daniele Braccia, founder and CEO of New Energy, at the 20th Catholic Information Forum for the Care of Creation, held in Pescasseroli from 14 to 16 November 2025.
The Pescasseroli Forum
Now in its twentieth edition, the Forum brings together journalists, associations and institutions around the idea of responsible reporting on environmental issues. The 2025 edition, dedicated to sustainable, inclusive sport that respects everyone, chose the heart of the Abruzzo National Park to reflect on how environmental and social sustainability can become everyday practice. The Sentinel of Creation Award goes to those who, through their work, actively take care of their territory.
The citation

The citation sums up New Energy’s whole trajectory: founded in Abruzzo in 2008 as a solar installer, today an Energy Service Company that finances and delivers energy-efficiency projects for businesses, public administrations and families, taking on the risk of the result.
Three pillars
The business philosophy recognised by the award rests on three pillars, the same ones that guide every New Energy project: technological innovation — from industrial solar to agrivoltaics and storage; support for local authorities — the ESCo model that lets municipalities and schools improve efficiency without tying up capital; outreach and training — the conviction, also at the heart of the book Transizione Logica, that the transition is built starting from knowledge.
A bond with Abruzzo that becomes a gesture
Federesco also recalls an episode that captures this bond: the gift to Pope Francis of a presentosa, the traditional Abruzzo jewel, during an audience at the Vatican. The award sits within the same cultural framework: that of Laudato si’, where progress and care for our common home are not in conflict — the same encyclical that inspires the Vatican’s path towards energy self-sufficiency, which we covered here.
